Obituary for Peter W. Rudi Reichow

Peter W. Rudi Reichow
Peter Reichow, 74, went to be with his Lord after a long battle with cancer on May 7, 2017, surrounded by those who loved him. Peter was born in Stolp, Pommern, Germany (now Poland) to Erna and Werner Reichow. Peter entered into trade school at the age of 14 to become a baker and completed his studies to become a Master Baker in 1966.

Peter is survived by his wife Ursula Reichow, married on February 27, 1965. They made the incredible journey to Canada in 1967 to begin a new life together. Peter’s dream of owning and operating his own business came to fruition in July of 1983 when he purchased the Burford Bakery which he owned and operated with his wife for 26 years prior to his retirement in 2009.

Peter is preceded in death by his siblings Horst Reichow, Ursula Fischer, Hannelore Grewe and Gudrun Schwennen. Peter is survived by his sister Rosemarie Kormanns and his children Dirk (Jennifer) Reichow, Yvonne (Dale) Martens and Stefanie (Paul) Salmon. And also by his 9 grandchildren: Drake, Eric, Sidney, Sebastian, Tristan, Claire, Brayden, Lincoln and Nathan.
Friends will be received at the Keith Ovington Funeral Home, 134 King Street, Burford on Wednesday from 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held at Fellowship Baptist Church, 67 King Street, Burford on Thursday May 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Pioneer Cemetery, Burford. As expression of sympathy donations in Peter’s memory may be made to World Vision, Canadian Cancer Research, Operation Smile or the Stedman Community Hospice.
