Obituary for Pan Marie Rogerson

Suddenly at home after battling heart disease, with her beloved husband by her side, on Monday January 31, 2022. Pan (nee Minke), of Harley in her 84th year. Beloved Wife of Tony Rogerson for 53 years. Loving Mom of Mollie Winfield and Hugh Rogerson. Respected Mother-in-law to Robin and Nathalie. Cherished Granny of Ben, Cole and Catherine. Dear sister of Gary (Joy) Minke and Dorothy Petriccione. Predeceased by her sisters Judy Peifer and Mary Margret “Jodie” Riley.

Pan joined the Peace Corp. in 1963 and taught in Tanzania 4 years as a volunteer. She later taught at the Hebrew Academy in Hamilton. Pan dedicated the next chapter of her life to raising Mollie and Hugh, co-founded, and taught as the first teacher at the Burford Co-operative preschool and drove a school bus for 10 years. She was very committed to the Girl Guiding movement for over 10 years. As her children reached high school, she returned to teaching elementary school, imparting her love of geography and the sciences. After retirement, Pan dedicated her time to birding, gardening, and volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul, providing meals at Grace church and served as Eucharistic minister for St. Pius, with special attention to Briarwood Home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Pius Church, 9 Waverly Street, Brantford on Wednesday Feb 9, 2022, at 11:00 am. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Keith Ovington Funeral Home, 134 King Street, Burford. As expressions of sympathy, donations in Pan’s memory may be made to St. Vincent de Paul or Bird Studies Canada.
