Obituary for Gordon Griffin
On October 29, 2022, Gord Griffin of Norwich in his 88th year passed away. Beloved husband of Marilyn (nee McDonald) for 62 years. Loving dad of Gloria (Sepah) Mazloum, Ken (Patricia), Helen (Ebrahim) and Harold (Shannon). Cherished grandpa of Donesh, Naveed, Roya, Makenna and Marleigh. Predeceased by siblings, Bill, Lula, Harold, Doris, Bruce, Milton, Verna and Eleanor. Gord will be sadly missed by his many family members and friends.
Gord graduated from Business college and then began his apple farming career with Aitkin’s Orchards. In 1968 the Griffin family moved to Norwich where he ran the business for the next 17 years. He was an active member in the community helping at charity events, coaching and cheering on sporting teams including the Norwich Merchants.
In his retirement years, you could find him driving around in his Ford truck and grabbing coffee with friends, catching up on the “news”. Gord will be remembered for his love of family, great sense of humour and giving nature.
Friends will be received at the Keith Ovington Funeral Home, 134 King Street, Burford on Saturday November 5, 2022 from 1:30-5 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Sunday November 6, 2022 at 1:00 p.m.https://youtu.be/OBHYKwzxwkU Reception to follow before the interment Glen Morris Cemetery.
