Obituary for Constance "Connie" Boone (Amy)

It is with great sadness we announce the loss of our wife and mother Constance (Connie) Pauline Boone (Amy), of Paris, on Friday May 13th, 2022. Connie is survived by her husband of 58 years Bill Boone, son David Boone, daughters Monica (Luis) Figueiredo, Cathy (Tom) Sims, 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Sister to Mary Flaherty and Bryan (James) Greenwood. Predeceased by sisters Anne (Robert) Dey and Susan (Gary) Fitzpatrick. Also survived by her in-laws Carol Hayden (Bill Mead), Dennis Boone (Charlotte), in addition to her multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A special mention to close friends Bob and Peggy South. Connie’s dog Dixie will miss all the snuggles and love.

Connie was born July 12th, 1943 in Burford to Harold Amy and Gwendolyn Greenwood, and was raised on a farm on Bishopsgate Rd S. Connie went to Alma College and graduated after 4 years, where she developed a passion for music. This passion led to her playing at many functions, weddings, funerals, and churches. Connie had a 40 year career as an RNA, with 30 of those years spent as a medical secretary in Paris. She was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, served her Meeting Waters chapter as Worthy Matron 4 times, and served all of Ontario as Worth Grand Matron. She also travelled extensively throughout Canada and the US through this fraternal organization. Locally, she was a volunteer for the Mary Maxim fairy godmothers, where she knit and crocheted many articles for donation to schools, nursing homes, and charities.

Friends will be received at the Keith Ovington Funeral Home, 134 King Street, Burford on Thursday May 19, 2022 from 7-9 p.m. An Eastern Star service will take place on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Connie’s name to the Cochlear Implant Foundation for Children, London Health Sciences Foundation, or the Grand Benevolent Committee of the Order of the Eastern Star Ontario.
