It is with great sorrow and broken hearts, George in his 67th year passed away on Tuesday September 25, 2018 surrounded by his loving family after a brief battle with cancer. Loving Husband to Karen for 44 years; loving Father to Mike, Marc and his fiancé Katelyn, and dear Grandpa George to Reuben. George is also survived by his sister Nancy and her spouse Mike Delsey and brother David and his spouse Lori.

George was a great supporter of sports having been past president of Waterford Minor Hockey along with being a hockey scout, GM, and a baseball and soccer coach as well. He was an avid volunteer when someone needed help and advocate of kids sharing his love of sports. He enjoyed standardbred horse racing along with car racing be it sprint cars at the Oshweken racetrack or the drags at Toronto Motorsports speedway.

Friends will be received at the Keith Ovington Funeral Home, 134 King Street, Burford on Friday October 5th from 6-8 p.m. A Celebration of George’s life will be held in the chapel on Saturday October 6, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations in George’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice or to a group/foundation that support kids in sports.
