Peacefully after a long, hard, courageous fought battle with ALS, surrounded by her loving family at Freeport Hospital, Kitchener on Thursday, January 18, 2017. Bernadette (nee Bennett), of Brantford, in her 73rd year. Beloved Wife of the late David Smith (2005). Loving Mom of Shellie (Chris) Voll, Shawn (Christine), and Scott (Brooke). Adoring Gram of Samantha, Brody, Brooke, Kadence, and Penelope. Also survived by her Brothers Percy, Bryan, Calvin, and Gerard and Sister Rona. Predeceased by her Parents Charles & Magdalen and Brother Earl. Bernadette will be sadly missed by her many family & friends.

Friends will be received at the Keith Ovington Funeral Home, 134 King Street, Burford on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Parish Prayers will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church, 183 King Street, Burford on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations in Bernadette’s memory may be made to ALS Society of Canada or Freeport Hospital, Palliative Care, Kitchener.
