Obituary for Manuel Ferreira
Peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Woodstock Hospital on Tuesday, December 5, 2017. Manuel Ferreira, of Harley, in his 88th year. Beloved Husband of the late Gloria (nee DaCosta) (2014). Loving Dad of Mary, Georgette and Christine. Manuel will be sadly missed by his family & friends in Portugal and Canada.
Manuel immigrated to Canada in the mid-1950s after learning the blacksmith trade from his father. He lived throughout Ontario working various jobs settling in Harley in 1971 working alongside his wife as tobacco farmers.
Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church, 183 King Street, Burford on Monday December 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Pioneer Cemetery, Burford. Arrangements entrusted to the Keith Ovington Funeral Home, 134 King Street, Burford. As expressions of sympathy, donations in Manuel’s memory may be made to the Sakura House, Woodstock or the Alzheimer’s Society. Keith Ovington 519-449-1112 www.keithovington.ca
