Obituary for Donald "Don" Mawson
Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at the Brantford General Hospital on Friday June 9, 2017. Don Mawson, a longtime resident of Burford, in his 94th year. Beloved Husband of Norma for 72 years. Loving Father of Gary (Sheila), Wayne (Trish), Diane (Dave) Hammond, and Randy. Cherished Grandpa to Tim and Sue-Anne, Papa to Dan, Kris, Abby, Tom, Paul, Mark, Ciara, and Erica. Great-grandpapa of Michael, Natalie, Nathan, Kaitlyn, Evan, Ryan and Otis. Don will be sadly missed by many family & friends.
Don met Norma in high school and they were married in 1944. They were married for 72 years. His love for music was only surpassed by his love for their Limerick Lake cottage property.
Friends will be received at the Keith Ovington Funeral Home, 134 King Street, Burford on Wednesday June 14, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. followed by a service to be held in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. As expressions of sympathy donations in Don’s memory may be made to the Brant S.P.C.A. or a charity of your choice.
